Brothers of Lakeville Lodge #353, F. & A. M. As the first signs of the winter season start to stick around, it is time for my final Trestle Board as Worshipful Master. First, our Stated Meeting will be this Thursday, December 5, 2024. Dinner will be at 6:30 p.m., and we will have Hamburgers, Cheeseburgers, and/or Brats. Please contact Worshipful Brother Max Feitz if you can attend so he can get enough food for this meal. For Masonic Education this month, Grand Lecturer Denny Davis, PM, will present his Masonic Etiquette talk. I have had the pleasure of hearing this a couple of times this year, and I am honored that Worshipful Brother Denny would take time out of his schedule to give us this education. Worshipful Brother Denny's talk will begin at 7 p.m., and once it is over, we will move to the Lodge Room for our Stated Meeting. His presentation and Q&A usually last about an hour or so. Our stated meeting should be fairly quick, as the only business that needs to be addressed is voting on Worshipful Master for 2025. As a reminder, any Brother who has been installed and served as a Warden of a Lodge can be voted in as the Worshipful Master for 2025. Now, depending on who is elected to the East, we will need to hold another special election to fill that office if that Brother has been elected to office. The Worshipful Master may not also serve as a Trustee. A Brother who holds any other office (elected or appointed) can also be elected as a Trustee. The special election will happen first thing on the Agenda after the introductions. Currently, for 2025, the elected Officers of Lakeville Lodge #353 are: Senior Warden Dean Shinneman, PM Junior Warden Eric Seavey, PM Treasurer Harold Rowe, PM Secretary Larry Ort, PM Trustee Dean Shinneman, PM (Until 12/31/2025) Trustee Larry Ort, PM (Until 12/31/2026) Trustee Ron Clady, PM (Until 12/31/2027) 2024 Lodge of Sorrow After we close the December Stated Meeting, I would also like to Close the Lodge of Sorrow for 2024; due to the uncertainty of when the Installation of Officers will be, I would like to make sure I complete all of my official duties for the year as Worshipful Master. 2025 Due Notices The dues notices for 2025 have been mailed out, and due to an error at the company that processes them for the Grand Lodge of Indiana, you might have received someone else's notice inside the envelope addressed to you. If this is the case, please let the Lodge Secretary know. We need to communicate this with Grand Lodge so they notify the company of how bad an error this is. Also, we can get you a corrected copy of your notice by letting us know. For the incorrect notice, please mail it to the correct person or the Lodge Secretary so he can get it to the correct brother. Feast of St. John I received a text message from W.B. Tom Kruse, of North Liberty Lodge #266 on Sunday, and it appears that we are being invited to celebrate and join North Liberty for the Feast of St. John on Friday, December 27, 2024. At this time, I do not have a time or any meal information, but if you are planning on attending, please get in touch with the Worshipful Master Elect or Lodge Secretary so that they can RSVP the number to W.B. Tom and the Brothers at North Liberty in a timely manner. I want to thank all the Officers for this past year and all the Brothers of Lakeville Lodge. My year in the East will not be one I will soon forget, as this will be my only time ever serving as the Worshipful Master of Lakeville Lodge. Looking back on my year, I can say with 100% certainty that if I were to go back in time to two years ago, when I was voted in as the Junior Warden, I would turn down the office. This decision to move through the chairs and then be the Master of the Lodge is my worst decision as a Mason. I am not free of fault for all that has happened this past year, and I am sorry for my part in these events. I do hope that each of you looks at yourself in the mirror and decides if your actions this past year were in the best interest of Freemasonry, Brotherly Love, Truth, and Relief. I pray that whoever is elected to the office of Worshipful Master for 2025 is able to heal the Lodge. I will do my best to support him and the Lodge and help them however he sees fit, and I can. So, for the last time, Thank You, and "may Brotherly Love prevail, and every moral and social virtue cement us." Fraternally Yours, Todd Whitteberry Worshipful Master - Lakeville Lodge #353 Lakeville, IN
